INFO:
Lucidio Sentimenti was a goalkeeper. He spent the majority of his career at Juventus and Lazio, making 188 appearances from 1942 to 1949 for the Bianconeri, 172 from 1949 to 1954 for the Biancocelesti. He played as winger in the 1943-44 Italian championship, scoring a few goals. He played also for Modena, Lanerossi Vicenza and a couple teams in lower leagues. He retired in 1960. He capped for Italy 9 times.
Sentimenti was a smart keeper who possessed great strength despite his short height. He was excellent in the air thanks to an impressive jump that allowed him to catch crosses or punch them away. He wasn't spectacular in the saves but he was gifted with agility, catching ability, great sense of position between the posts. Able in reading his opponents moves, he was effective one-on-one as he didn't fear physical contact. His successful attempts out of the goal to stop striker and ball with his feet together were his trademark. In fact, he was capable with his feet to the point that he occasionally took penalties. He used to move a lot near the goal as warmup when he wasn't busy. However, this characteristic and his apparent overconfidence were the reasons why he often suffered goals from long range.
