Attack MindedINFO:Mullen was a left winger. Playing his whole career at Wolverhampton Wanderers with 486 matches and 112 goals from 1937 to 1959, he was part of the legendary team that won three national titles in the 1950s. He capped 12 times for England and scored 6 goals. He was part of the squad at the 1950 and 1954 FIFA World Cups.
Mullen was a quick player, gifted with an accurate and fast dribbling. He used to beat the opposing marker defender, sometimes with more than one turn, before delivering an accurate cross to the box. When he had enough space he could cut inside the box and shoot on goal instead, even though his kicks didn't seem to be really powerful. He was left footed but he was good with the right foot as well. At Wolverhampton the other winger Hancocks probably was a bit most dangerous and powerful but Mullen could rely on technical abilities that could measure him up.
