INFOKnut Nordahl was very versatile player, able to play on various positions, imposed with his fantastic sliding tackles and enormous strength with solid passing range and decent technique. He also had good scoring record in Sweden, where he played more offensive, meanwhile in Italy he was mainly used as wing half and centre half. He played for IFK Norrköping and A.S. Roma. In the 1940s he played for IFK Norrköping, with which he was several times Swedish champions. In 1950 he moved to Italy as many Swedes. He signed with AS Roma, where he played with his countrymen Stig Sundqvist and Sune Andersson. He won the gold medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics along with his brothers Bertil and Gunnar Nordahl. The two went to Italy after the Olympics (Bertil to Atalanta B.C. and Gunnar to AC Milan) and, due to playing in a professional football league while Swedish football was all amateur, they were not called to the 1950 FIFA World Cup. Knut stayed at Sweden and was called to the tournament. After the World Cup, he was finally transferred to Italy, when he played for AS Roma. He was capped 26 times for the Sweden national football team. 1949 Knut Nordahl was as Sweden's Footballer of the Year awarded with the Guldbollen after his brothers had previously received Gunnar (1947) and Bertil (1948) the award. After moving to Italy, he is no longer included in the national selection, as the Swedish Football Association at the time professional football declined. Knut Nordahl died on 28/10/1984.
