INFOJoseph Jadrzejczak, known as Joseph Jadrejak (20 February 1918 - 24 November 1990), was a football player and manager who played as a defender. He was part of the famed Lille team of the late 1940s. Born in Germany, he made three appearances for the France national team. He was one of the leaders of great lille team alongside Jean Barrate. Joseph was right back, very tough and strong player, effective in challenges and very determinate. The reserved defender, though he kept to himself off the pitch, was highly respected by his teammates; therefore, in December 1949, he, along with team captain Prévost and Baratte, was part of the "players' council" they appointed to lobby club president Louis Henno for an increase in their comparatively low salaries. When the autocratic chairman refused to comply and even threatened to sell them to other clubs – something he had actually done with François Bourbotte in a similar situation in 1946 – the team reacted with a match boycott, which then forced Henno to back down. He ended his playing career in the summer of 1950, having won four official titles and, like Marceau Somerlinck and Jean Baratte, having played in six French Cup finals – a record that still stands into the 21st century. For the 1969-1970 season, Joseph Jadrejak, the former defender of LOSC from the great era, returned to the club of his youth, as coach, a position in which he succeeded Daniel Langrand .
