INFO

Antoine Cuissard was one of the best players in France in the years after the war. Very versatile player, played mainly as right wing half but also inside right and as centre half. Quickly noticed for his dexterity and his ease with the ball, fast, elegant footballer and adept at attacking climbs, he also knows how to organize and defend. Powerful, fast and versatile, had remarkable technique, good pace and scoring abilities, always effective and offensive in his midfield role. Hs career took an astonishing trajectory in the summer of 1946. Always so offensive and effective in a role of midfielder, he scores ten goals on average per season. During the 1949-1950 financial year, Antoine Cuissard changed more and more regularly as a central defender. This did not prevent him from actively participating in the 1950 World Cup qualifiers, but with little success, since France did not get their ticket to the finals. Unfortunately, the following season, when he played only 11 games, proved more difficult for him. His last appearance in the green jersey finally took place in February 1952, a 4-1 victory over Sochaux. He then left Saint-Etienne and joined AS Cannes for 6 months, before signing in Nice, where he won a Coupe de France and wrote the only line on his record.
