Native of Cegléd, began playing football in local team in 1929, passing the following year to Salgótarján. He stayed in the youth club until 1935, making his debut in the same year the first National League Hungarian Nemzeti the Bajnokság I, marking nineteen goals in 24 appearances: the team were relegated though in the second division.
