INFO:
One of the best defensive midfielders in the Soviet football, after 1947 he played in defence though. It is curious that it was Leonid Solovyov who was entrusted with the responsible role of a full-time penalty taker in the team. The fact is that he was distinguished by a strong shot and great free kicks from various distances. In his game is harmoniously combined the ability to create and to destroy the ability required by each defender. Exceptional suppleness, a keen understanding of the intricacies of the game, a skilled tackles, the perfect game head, enviable composure, consistency, endurance and dedication helped him to create a wide area impassable to their gates. However, without much running around with long, accurate and extremely meaningful passes, he created fertile conditions for effective and instant counterattack. Solovyov physically very powerful, was a great expert in neutralizing the strongest rival forwards, it was entrusted to him by the neutralization of such famous masters of attack, as the Bobrov, Ponomarev, Nordahl, against whom he has always acted extremely technical, tight, but correct. Powerful strikes from long range and his free kick resulted in awe keeper. Enjoyed great prestige in all teams that played for.
