INFOOne of the best right wingers in Soviet football and the Dynamo team in all the years. Perfectly technically trained, fast, agile, maneuverable, he mastered the shot perfectly, during which he skillfully changed the rhythm and direction of movement. He used deceptive movements so skillfully that the defenders guarding him fell to the ground even before direct contact with him, because they lost their balance, reacting to his feints, performed with such ease and naturalness that it was impossible not to believe them, and to his " jagged" movements. Moreover, Trofimov did all this in different parts of the field, but they were especially effective when he quickly moved along the very sideline of the field, skillfully covering the ball with his body and never letting it go beyond the field. He was an exemplary master of tactical cunning moves, perfectly mastered the art of complete mutual understanding of his partners in the attack. He exhaustively subtly assessed game situations, instantly made the best decisions at the moment, and unusually accurately and timely either passed the ball to the partner who was in the best position or took over the game, completing the attack with an individual rapid pass followed by a shot from both feet. His finishing actions in the attack were also exemplary - he either made a sharp, targeted pass from the flank, always meaningful and technically flawless, or hit on target, the impact force also corresponded to the moment and position of the opponents goalkeeper, or quietly into the lowest corner, or powerfully at nine. Trofimov acted unusually creatively for his time, he never limited his maneuvers only to his edge, but acted throughout the field, often shifted to the center, retreated - again in accordance with the situation - deep back to help to his midfielders and often started his attacks from his half of the field. Unfortunately, severe injuries forced him to leave big football ahead of time, and prevented numerous spectators from enjoying his unforgettable, perfect game. No wonder in 1967 he was included in the symbolic team of the USSR for fifty years.
Trofimov, along with Bobrov are unique athletes that honorary title of Honored Master of Sports was given on three sports - football, hockey and bandy. They were equally great in each of these sports.
