INFO:Borelli was a defensive midfielder and full back. He spent the majority of his career at Alessandria, making 202 appearances from 1927 to 1936, scoring 18 goals. He played also for Liguria, Genoa and Ivrea, retiring in 1943 due to a meniscus injury.
Borelli was a versatile player, capable of playing in midfield and defence equally well but used mainly as defensive midfielder, acting as hard worker and bulwark. Powerful and agile, he was always ready to move where the opponents were most threatening especially when acting as defender, showing a very good ball interception ability. A forward in his early career, he was gifted with good technique and kept showing his qualities as defensive player even though he got less chances to score. He liked advancing towards the goal when he could, sometimes delivering powerful volleys from the edge of the area and more occasionally reaching its center to head the ball in goal.
