INFO:Taylor was a right-half, occasionally left-half or inside forward, and formerly a centre forward. His career began in 1935 at Bristol Rovers. He then spent the rest of his career at Liverpool, making 343 appearances from 1936 to 1954, scoring 32 goals. He capped for England 3 times in 1947. A key player in Liverpool's team for many years, Taylor guaranteed assurance and confidence to his teammates thanks to his half back play. He was scheming, able in building up the attack and in creating many scoring chances. For that reason, he was often deployed as inside as his footballing brain could be adapted to any situation. Moreover, he possessed a remarkable finishing ability. He often scored from barely outside the area, usually with well placed ground shots, sometimes with good power. His most prolific season was the 1938-39 with 14 goals. After wartime, he was much less prolific, scoring only 7 goals from 1946 to 1954.
