INFO:Romani was a centre forward. He spent the majority of his career at Spal, making 170 appearances and scoring 120 goals in the third division from 1924 to 1932, and 9 more goals in 19 matches in his final season in 1937-38. He played for Milan from 1932 to 1936, scoring 37 goals in 83 games but only the first season was remarkable as he hit the net 19 times in 31 appearances. He played also for Palermo in 1936-37.
Spal's all-time scorer and one of the best players in the club's history, Romani was distinguished for his great technical qualities, cleverness in freeing himself from the defender's marking, an unrivalled shooting accuracy and the ability to make the best of every opportunity created by his teammates. He was a no-nonsense striker who wasted no time running towards the goal once he received the ball before shooting with no hesitation. He had a short and frail physique but he still could resist the charges of the defenders, although he preferred overcoming his opponents with his speed, agility, cunning and efficiency when moving in empty spaces. Because he could also create chances for his teammates, Milan decided to change his style of play starting from the second season. Therefore, Romani became a much less prolific striker year by year. Some physical problems also affected his consistency.
