Albert Guinchard has his whole life only played football for a club - Servette! His nickname was "Dody". Guinchard was a physical education teacher and a graduate physiotherapist very multiple sports. 1931, when 17-year-old, he played basketball for the Swiss national team. Later he was coach of the Swiss women's national basketball team! Guinchard was also a very good athlete. In 1931 he played for the first time in Fanioteam Servette. The new player-coach Karl Rappan had noticed the boy quickly. He would play 16 years for Servette and bring it to the championship four times to Geneva. What a loyalty! Albert Guinchard was rather small in stature, but very robust. Guinchad had an excellent positional play and a tremendous jumping ability, so that it is much longer rivals high balls very often in the truest sense of the word in front of the nose headed the ball away. He was equipped with plenty of instinct, so refined it some in the opponent's plan and advised vorauser thwarted. He was one of those actors who attracted attention to their physical and mental agility and the football game of their time given a lot of shine. Albert was a natural leader Guinchard. He took responsibility and led to his respective team. That is why his teammates called him as "le Colonel," although he has nothing "exemplary officer" had on him. More than 500 official games for Servette has Guinchard denied. He was a reliable player with a strong physical constitution. With 20 years in 1934, ran at the Geneva for the first time for the football team. For the World Cup in 1934, he was the youngest player in the squad. He played both games in Italy. In 1938, he had the benefit of his teammates Lörtscher to the sword. He missed so the two memorable games against United Germany in Paris. He played a total of 12 times for the Swiss national football team. His twelfth and final international game ended with an equally sensational victory against the same opponents in April 1941 in Bern. The Geneva was popular throughout Switzerland. He was all out sporting a sweet, cozy partners. Dody Guinchard died in May 1971 after a long illness. He is only 57 years old become.
