INFO:Reidar Kvammen belonged to Norway's foremost soccer little in the latter part of the 1930s and in a few seasons after the liberation. It is not getting that places him as the best of them all. There is certainly no doubt that he was a peerless virtuoso ball, which made life harder for defenders. Even as a 16-year-old came on the Vikings Kvammen A-team, and barely 18 years old, got his place in the Norwegian B-team. The very next year, 5 November 1933, he debuted on the A-team in a 2-2 game against Germany in Magdeburg. Among the team's four debutantes were also Reidar Kvam While brother Arthur, who scored one of the goals.
In the first Superbowl in 1934, Reid sat out the team, but he could note for 39 appearances in a row until the autumn of 1939. Among these battles take it off some of the most legendary settlement. In the last match before the squad traveled to the Olympic Games in Berlin, the Norwegians won 4-3 over Sweden at the Stockholm Stadium, where Reid Kvammen scored three goals and was termed as man of the match play. When the main stem was also clear when it came to the Olympic team, and Kvammen became one of the leading players, both when Norway beat Germany 2-0 and bronze in the final match against Poland.
Also, when Norway played their World Cup match against Italy in Marseille, 1938, Reid was Kvammen hailed for his dazzling play. Marseille Matin newspaper named him one of the world's top four runners inside. That was how the inner right place that always was taken by the Viking player.
Kvammen was in Norway last førkrigskamp, but was not on the team from the start 1945. But in the summer of 1946, when Norway beat Finland 12-0 in Bergen, the Viking idol in place, and two years later, he celebrates as the first Norwegian to 50 caps. When played against Denmark and Norway won 2-1 in idrætsplads Park in a match which was celebrating as a special mission to neutralize the great Danish player, Knud Lundberg. This task Kvammen solved in a way that the press's opinion the main reason for the Norwegian victory. He was not only the team captain, but also the key player and matchvinner, it was written.
On 19th June 1949 Kvammen played his 51st and last cap. It took place at Ullevaal in our very first meeting with Yugoslavia. Kvammen was injured partway through the match and replaced by the 18-year-old Per Bredesen, who thus made his international debut. Then it was gone almost 16 years ago, Reid Kvammen debut, and his extraordinarily elegant games had also resulted in 17 games. 1961 was awarded the Norwegian Football Association Kvammen gold mark in addition to that he had long since received the coveted gold watch for 25 caps.
Throughout his career, Reidar Kvammen an extremely loyal player for the team Viking Stavanger, where he had the pleasure of playing the cup final 1933. A bit of joy, of course, was destroyed by Mjøndalen, who won the final with 3-1.
