Schall was inside left although he changed often positions with left winger Adi Vogl, later in his career Schall started to play in defence. He was very explosive player like a shell, with his left foot he could score from all possible angles and positions. Besides he was gifted technically and had great intuition in the box, scoring lot of goals. Pacy striker with good dribbling but also noticable passing skills. Mainly exchanging quick short passes with Vogl and getting into good scoring positions. He scored 27 goals in 28 games with NT, meanwhile for Admira he scored 231 goals in 285 games.
