INFO:

Mario Gianni is former Italian keeper and one of the leading Italian keepers in his time. Nicknamed the Magic Cat due to his fantastic acrobatic saves, Gianni owned phenomenal reflexes and elasticity, agilty and jumping abilities. He was weak on long range shots though, sometimes it was easier for him to save 2 consecutive shots from close range than saving one from long from long range. Mario Gianni, the Pisan who loved Bologna even before arriving in the city, was born in Genoa on 19/11/1902. The term "magic cat" climax they hitch him in South America, during the famous tour of rossoblù in 1929. One night in Rio, Mario Gianni accomplished these feats and many turn to the fancy of the Brazilian torcida. And in truth that nickname (then still remained to him) kept them for as much of a cat that got into his speeches. Shooting, agility, vision allows him to get even on balls and make impossible saves that define the minimum was prodigious. In any case, the best for a long time in rossoblù. As a person was exquisitely open, loyal, cheerful, a sensitive soul. Already in the years when he played in Pisa (although his city had been born in Genoa), his dream was to one day be part of Bologna. He finished in the summer of 1924 the President decided to oblige Masetti also giving the job to the Savings Bank. It was immediately after the fabulous five championship final with Genoa. The something, where the joyous mood of the new-rossoblù, even more annoyed his fellow citizens who already had accused him of treason. Fact is that the Arena Garibaldi awaited the arrival of the first samples to crowd behind the goal and mocked heavily Bologna goalkeeper. Except that the game took place entirely in the other half. The Bologna at that time had a bad temper. He won 6-0: Gianni was the last time he played in his hometown. With that Bologna Felsner, all technical and cohesion, Gianni lived a beautiful novel in 12 chapters, winning three league titles and two European Cup. Closed by the Italian champion in 1936 at age 34, after playing for the whole of the previous five championships and set the record with 172 consecutive appearances of social continuity. Gianni also has 6 games for National Team and 5 in B. Unforgettable debut in blue in the festive frame of Littoriale May 29, 1927. Mario Gianni died in Milano in 1967, at age of 65.
