One of the best ever German left wingers. Tau was long time leader of Fortuna, player known above all for his fantastic crosses and tons of assists, pretty fast and strong player with good drivbbling, technically gifted and good scorer. His parents were Catholic Poles who had emigrated from the then Prussian Posen only to Gelsenkirchen and from there to Dusseldorf. He played as a left winger for SC including black and white 06 Dusseldorf, and Fortuna Dusseldorf. With Fortuna he was German champion in 1933. Between 1931 and 1941 he ran 26 times for the German national team and scored nine goals, including in 1934 the very first German hit at a World Cup. At the first international match against Poland on 3 December 1933 in Berlin Poststadion he led the German team as team captain. The game was a result of the policy of rapprochement between Berlin and Warsaw, which later led to the German-Polish Non-Aggression Pact few weeks. With the 1-0 victory of the Germans sat for the same reason also Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels in the VIP stand. Kobierski 1934 with the German national team was third at the World Cup in Italy. Germany defeated Austria in 3rd place match 3-2. In 1939 he was appointed to the Imperial Self of the National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK). In the autumn of 1940 he played for several weeks for the set up of the German occupiers Police Sports Club Warsaw, before he was seconded to PSV Berlin, several play, he was team captain of the 1941 Berlin city selection. At the end of the war he fell into Soviet captivity. Only in 1949 he returned back to the Rhineland. Already 39 years old, he went back to the first team of Fortuna. But after only four games injury forced him to end his career. In 1953 he took over from his former team mate Paul Janes as coach of the national league clubs SV 09 Baesweiler. He reached him the title of Vice-Champion in the district of the Middle Rhine. He then led in Dusseldorf a lottery and pools receiving office. When his apprenticeship he was "police constable". On 18 November 1972 - five days after his 62nd Birthday - Stanislaus Kobierski died in Dusseldorf.
