Delfour came in the summer of 1928 from the Paris region to the capital club Stade Français, in which the 20-year-old was soon out the regulars. During his first season with Stade Français, he made the selection committee of the Football Association, attention and made his debut as national team (see below). In 1929 he moved to local rivals Racing Club de France, where he stayed for eight years. There it was 1932 - with the introduction of a professional league - also officially professional football player and won in 1936, rolled gold (national champion and cup winner). In the two years before the war, he played in the north of France for the RC Roubaix, where he ended his more than nine-year national team career, experienced but also a sport very dark hour: the Roubaisiens landed at the end of the season 1938/39 last on the standings. Then Edmond Delfour moved to Normandy to Rouen, where he played during the war and German occupation of six successful years. In 1940 he won the championship there, the northern group of the league that counts but no more than the official title as the war Championships 1945, which celebrated the new North First from Rouen to a 4-0 victory over the Lyon Olympique Universitaire Südsieger. 1941, 1942 and 1943, Delfour finished with this club also formed their second place in the Northern Group. After the liberation of France, he returned to Paris and back yet still played one season in Division 1 for Red Star Olympique. At the end of his team made it to the finals in the Cup. This was lost against Lille OSC. The now 39-year-old Delfour took no further part in the final game. Edmond Delfour played between May 1929 and June 1938 a total of 41 games for the Equipe Tricolore, including three in his time at Stade Français, 34 at Racing Paris and four for the Roubaix RC. In these games, he scored two goals in twelve matches and he was also team captain. Among the highlights of his international appearances include the first three World Cups at the tournaments in Uruguay, Italy and in our own country has played all six matches Delfour the national team, he also took part in the unofficial match, which the French on 1 August 1930, before returning to Europe, with 2:3 against Brazil lost.
