INFO:

Beb Bakhuys is former Dutch legend. Mainly a centre forward or inside forward, but he was very versatile player. Although he moved pretty slow, he was great player. Had excellent heading abilities, rocket shot with whom he scored goals from 30-40 meters but also had passes with incredible speed and precision. Beb had also good precision in his shots, not just pure power. Although a slow player he had decent agility in small spaces, decent dribbling and ball control. Bakhuys was born in Dutch East Indies but moved as a boy to The Hague. Since he debuted in 1925 in the first team of champions HBS. Since 1927, he played for Z.A.C. from Zwolle, where he also had played as a pupil. In these days he visited as a boy in the Horticulture Drenthe Frederiksoord and played occasionally under a false name with the local football club Old Forward. Member of this club, however, he never was. A year later he played his first international match, against Italy. After a failed attempt in the Dutch East Indies to make career in 1933, he returned to Zwolle. Bakhuys meanwhile performed the impossible in Zwolle, almost single-handedly ZAC he kicked back in the first class. He then became a solid force in Orange. In his first match after his return, on March 11, 1934 against Belgium, he scored his most famous goal, a falling header. Such a goal is a goal in the Netherlands still Ă  la (Beb) Bakhuys mentioned. Until 1936 Bakhuys played 23 matches in which he scored no less than 28 times. In the 30s he was one of Dutch most popular athletes. After Bakhuys started playing football for VVV Venlo out he's a cigar shop started. This cigar case werdhem by the club available. According to the KNVB smacked this payment, and Bakhuys was no longer regarded as an amateur and suspended as a member. This resulted in a major riot in which police reportedly Bakhuys's house is invaded and the player dragged from his house. After that Bakhuys in 1937 to France, where he joined FC Metz was a professional footballer. The KNVB, eager to amateur status in Dutch football to keep the star player is also suspended immediately for the Dutch team. Between the KNVB and Bakhuys it never worked out. During World War II he was employed some time in Leipzig. After the war he played two years in France. He ended his football career at Metz in 1947. He then moved back to the Netherlands. After a period of illness he joined the Central Bureau of driving licenses in Rijswijk. He was also an employee of the television picture in Sports, the precursor to Studio Sport. Bakhuys remained until his 38th pro in 1947 he went back for good in the Netherlands. It kept him relatively bad. His business career was one of great trial and error, his health was so bad that he should be included in the sanatorium for tuberculosis. After his recovery - two years later - there was a job for him regularly at the Central Bureau of Driving, in television he worked at Sport in Pictures. The sick DST network and did some back via the AVRO unleash an action for televisions in sanatoriums.
