INFO:Santillo was a half-back and centre back. He established himself at young age at Spezia in the late 1920s and early 1930s, playing 132 matches and scoring 6 goals. He transferred to Palermo in 1932, making 234 appearances in eight seasons, scoring 5 goals, becoming one of the best and most complete midfielders in Serie A. Called up for Italy several times, he was never featured in a match likely because he wasn't part of a big club. He retired in 1942 after a short experience at Grosseto and died the following year during an air combat in the Second World War.
One of the most representative players in Palermo history, Santillo had unquestionable class. He possessed good basic technique, he was capable of stopping the opposing attacks and then build up his team's offense with millimetric long passes. He occasionally pushed forward to support the attack. Otherwise, he acted as advanced defender.
