INFO:Garaffa was a left-half. His career started in 1931 at Racing Club de Avellaneda where he played until 1934, earning two caps for Argentina in 1933. He transferred to Italy in 1934, signing for Livorno where he spent four seasons, making 91 appearances and scoring 5 goals. During this period, he was close to play for Italy but was only called-up. He also played for Crvena Zvezda, Prato, Cosenza and Lecce. He retired in 1943.
A very good player, Garaffa didn't have a great physique though. Therefore, he made up for his lack of strength with good technique. He had the dynamism of a half-back mixed with the class of an inside forward. He ran a lot without losing mentality but wasn't very effective at breaking the opposing attacks. In fact, his style of play was focused on building the game for his teammates as soon as the ball was on his feet. He could do whatever he wanted with the ball. Had he been tougher and more effective overall rather than being just technically gifted, he could've been one of the best midfielders in Italy.
