BalancedINFO:Garaffa was a half-back on the left side. His career began in 1931 in Racing Club de Avellaneda, where he played 50 matches in three seasons and capped twice for Argentina in 1933. He transferred to Italy in 1934. He played 86 games and scored 3 goals for Livorno in four seasons. He almost managed to cap for Italy when he was called-up but the competition didn't give the possibility to debut. After he left Livorono, he played for Crvena Zvezda, Prato, Cosenza and Lecce before retiring in 1943.
A very good player, Garaffa didn't have a great physique. Therefore he offset the lack of strength with good technique. He had the mobility typical of his position mixed with the class of an inside forward. He ran a lot without losing mentality but he wasn't very effective at interdicting. In fact his playstyle was focused on building the play for his teammates whenever he had the ball on his feet. He could do whatever he wanted the ball and, if he was tougher and more practical rather than just technical, he could've become one of the best half-backs in Italy.
