Name: Francisco Garaffa ![]() Country: ![]() Club: Racing Club (1931-1934), U.S. Livorno (1934-1938) Position: *DMF, CMF Side: RF/BS Age: 23-27 years (17/06/1910) Height: 172 cm Weight: 72 kg Attack: 70 Defence: 63 Balance: 77 Stamina: 83 Top Speed: 82 Acceleration: 81 Response: 76 Agility: 81 Dribble Accuracy: 79 Dribble Speed: 78 Short Pass Accuracy: 79 Short Pass Speed: 72 Long Pass Accuracy: 77 Long Pass Speed: 72 Shot Accuracy: 63 Shot Power: 76 Shot Technique: 64 Free Kick Accuracy: 62 Curling: 67 Header: 62 Jump: 71 Technique: 82 Aggression: 70 Mentality: 80 Goalkeeper Skills: 50 Team Work: 80 Injury Tolerance: B Condition: 6 Weak Foot Accuracy: 5 Weak Foot Frequency: 5 Consistency: 6 Growth type: Early/Peak CARDS: SPECIAL ABILITIES: Attack/Defence Awareness Card: Balanced INFO: Garaffa was a left-half. His career started in 1931 at Racing Club de Avellaneda where he played until 1934, earning two caps for Argentina in 1933. He transferred to Italy in 1934, signing for Livorno where he spent four seasons, making 91 appearances and scoring 5 goals. During this period, he was close to play for Italy but was only called-up. He also played for Crvena Zvezda, Prato, Cosenza and Lecce. He retired in 1943. A very good player, Garaffa didn't have a great physique though. Therefore, he made up for his lack of strength with good technique. He had the dynamism of a half-back mixed with the class of an inside forward. He ran a lot without losing mentality but wasn't very effective at breaking the opposing attacks. In fact, his style of play was focused on building the game for his teammates as soon as the ball was on his feet. He could do whatever he wanted with the ball. Had he been tougher and more effective overall rather than being just technically gifted, he could've been one of the best midfielders in Italy. |

MEN at 88, TW at 86? Why does he looks like one of the best halfbacks in Italy during that time on this regard, regardless of his call ups, if he played half of this era in Serie B? Just take a look at the midfielders's MEN and TW who were selected to represent Italy at the time of his Livorno career Italy 1934 Italy 1936 Italy 1938 |

As I said in the info he never capped for Italy due to these better players, so yes those stats need to be lowered. What about 81-82 MEN and 79-80 TW? Also would you decrease also other stats? And would you make the era 1933-1935 considering only the Serie A season or it's ok as it is? |

Yes, like a MEN/TW combo of 80-80 looks better, you should to keep these relatively "unknown" players benchmarked with the most "well-known" players that have an international career as long they are share a similar playing style. |
