INFO:Barbieri was a left-winger. His career started in 1925 at Spal, in the Italian third division, where he made 178 appearances and scored 91 goals in eight seasons. He then played for Milan in 1933-34 and Cremonese in 1934-35 but was unsuccessful in both seasons due to an injury suffered at the start of his season with the
Rossoneri. He retired in 1936 after spending one last year at Spal, scoring once in 8 matches.
A winger distinguished for his energy and tenacity, Barbieri possessed a powerful shot as well as an enthusiastic and practical style of play. When he had space, he wasted no time to reach the end of the field to send a cross or cut inside to attempt the shot. He found his place in Spal's starting eleven since the 1929-30 season after he perfected his shooting accuracy that allowed him to capitalize every opportunity and become a scoring machine who hit the net 71 times in 100 matches within four years.
