INFO:

Former Bologna legend and the flying bulldog of great Bologna side in 30's. Gasperi was the great fighter with fantastic speed and jump, impossed with his strong and energetic play, determined in tackling, relied on instinct and strength. He also had very good technique and skills since he began as inside left. Born in Bologna on December 26, 1903. He played with the "rossoblu" shirt for 17 seasons, from 1921/22 to 1937/38. 380 appearances and four total goals scored, Italian champion in 1925, 1929, 1936, 1937, winning the European Cup in 1932 and 1934, the Tournament at the Paris Exposition in 1937. He also played six games in the National Team debuting on April 15, 1928, against Portugal. Pure product of Bologna, faithful to the colors in the tradition of the time. He formed the first defensive pair with Borgato, then Monzeglio and Fiorini through seventeen years full of success and satisfaction. Second in all time list of appearances in rossoblu, only behind Bulgarelli, but with the excuse that during the years prior to round one, not all admissions were ascertained. Memorable are his clashes with Juventus player Varglien II, another little chap to be recommended, and their battles did not end almost never in the ninetieth minute, as the two reached a (forced by the referee) locker rooms. Usually Gisto would put his feet on those Varglien II, who was known to defend all right, so they are never duels with unequal weapons. It was the thirties, those of five consecutive championships Juventus and Bologna, which shook the world. Gasperi played in only 6 games in the National, a little 'for his fiery character and especially for the competition of a certain Caligaris. Felice Gasperi was outspoken person, on and off the pitch, the ideal defensive player on a team without flaws. Blunt to the point of suggesting to his coach, Hungarian Weisz, replacing him with the youngest Pagotto, when in 1937 he realized that he had come to an end of his career. Blunt to the point of returning to the chronicles, in the postwar period, for an attempt at aggression against Gino Cappello. Blunt to the point of care for wine trading, after the conclusion of his playing career. Rebellious, preserved to last, admitted to a clinic in CittĂ  Sant'Angelo, near Pescara, was found dead on a country road adjoining squatting on himself. He did not want to end his life in a hospital. It happened in 1982, Gasperi was 79 years old.
