Ferdinand Wesely is former Austrian player. He played as left winger and was most known for his rocket free kicks. He was good assist man but also good scorer with 165 goals in 261 games for Rapid. He was strong player although of small size, very fast and agile, elegant ball control and great shooting while in full speed. The left winger started his career in 1920 and joined SV Rennweger at that Austria's leading football club Rapid. Ferdl Wesely, soon evolved into one of the pillars of the green-white attack in 1921 and 1923, already a master in 1922 and played regularly under Hugo Meisl in the national team. As a team, he shone especially in games against arch-rivals Hungary, against whom he scored a total of 8 of his 17 international goals. After a 3-0 victory in the Austrian Cup final against Austria Vienna took part the first time Rapid Ferdl Wesley in Mitropapokal 1927th The club reached the finals, but failed to 2:6 and 2:1 Sparta Prague. Also in 1928 failed Mitropapokal Wesely Ferdinand, who scored two final gates, only with rapid 1:7 and 5:3 in the final at FerencvĂĄros. The left winger took over this year, the captain of loop Leopold Nitsch and led his club to two league titles and another in 1930 Mitropapokal again in the finals in the rapid turn Sparta Prague faced. After the Second World War Ferdl Wesely went back to Vienna and joined the SC Red Star Vienna before it on 19 Died of a heart attack in March 1949.
