INFO:Gallino was a winger in his early career and a full-back in his late one. He played for Casale from 1921 to 1924, scoring 16 goals in 65 matches. Then for Legnano between 1924 and 1926, scoring 4 times in 42 games. He came back to Casale in 1926, switching his position to defender and playing 66 more matches in three seasons, scoring once from penalty. When he joined Alessandria in 1929, he probably had the peak of his career, proving to be able to compete comfortably and efficiently in the newly formed Serie A. He retired in 1936 after spells at Pontedecimo and Entella.
Gallino as winger was a good player, always very constant, gifted with technique and tactical intelligence that distinguished his playstyle. Either as attacker or defender, he never was phenomenal because he could do everything pretty well but nothing wonderfully, never standing out. According to the reports, he was impressively fast and everytime he ran down the flank, he was acclaimed by the crowd. His plays were efficient and made not only of quickness but also smartness. He liked to make personal actions and delivering very powerful shots on goal but also being an assist-man who sent accurate crosses to the box at the end of an action or from corner. As full-back, he formed an excellent defence with Caligaris at Casale. Gallino could still use his characteristics as advantage, in addition to a decent tackling and the ability to go head-to-head with teams like Juventus. However, despite still being constant, he seemed to suffer in heavy field and against classy attackers like Giuseppe Meazza or quick ones like Carlo Reguzzoni. Moreover, he was more pronte to commit mistakes and sometimes his performances were considered below his true value.
