With nineteen years at Newcastle, from 1910 to 1929, he is the second joint longest servant for the club along with his club colleague Billy McCracken. During the partnership with McCracken, they created the infamous offside trap that would later force a change in the offside rules. The nickname 'Old Surefoot' was given due to his reliability during his time at the club. He was the club's captain from 1923 to 1926, before demoted to vice-captain following Hughie Gallacher’s arrival at the club. The tough-tackling full-back was also famous for his penalty-taking ability with twenty-five of his thirty-seven goals for Newcastle came from the penalty spot. Beside, he was also a freekick specialist with his ponderous kick. Hudspeth was also capped once for England NT, against Ireland, on 24 October 1925. Apearance: 472 Goal: 37 Spoiler: show |

There you go... So, based on info, don't you think he deserves Penalties (PK Taker) as a special ability? Also, was he mobile enough to deserve 82 for STA? I gave that value to George Male who played as a wing half, not only as a full back, and for sure that position required more running. Did he went into runs with the ball? If not, I find DS value high even though he looks pacey based on stats. Compare him with other players at the same position from that era to get a full picture. You can post links of articles from which you gathered information about this player. I'm saying all this because those players you created are missing on this forum and it would be good to have their proper sets here. P. S. It would be good to see infos for other players too |

Many thanks for your feedback, Milos. I'm interested in researching the missing players in the UK clubs' section. Still collecting articles for the others stats, will update soon. In those articles above, they said that he played outside left & right half back before joining Newcastle so I think that STA & DS are somehow around those numbers. If you have any suggestions, please advise. |
