INFO:
Bergamino was a left winger, occasionally used on the right or as inside. He spent his entire career at Genoa, making 113 appearances from 1915 to 1926, scoring 38 goals. He debuted in Serie A against Inter on 25th April 1915, when he was only 16 year old. He gained 5 caps for Italy between 1920 and 1923. Regarded as one of the best Italian old-school wingers of the early 1920s, Bergamino was gifted with temperament, great speed and technique. He was quite prolific but his main task was running down the side and deliver a cross to the box when he reached the corner line. His crosses were very accurate and presumably had good speed. In fact, his corner kicks were usually close to the ground and so insidious that the ball could pass between the legs of the defenders and create a melee in the box before reaching a teammate. Quick and impetuous, Bergamino could read easily the defensive playstyle of his opponents. He formed a very good pair with Aristodemo Santamaria, showing with him a fine and vary attacking play. His main flaw was probably his hesitation with the ball, sometimes preferring to keep it too much.
