INFO:
Rizzi was a right-inside. He spent most of his career at Milan, making 49 appearances and scoring 18 goals. He played for the Rossoneri from 1904 to 1906 and from 1910 to 1913. He retired in 1915 after a couple years at Inter. He was called up for Italy 4 times, scoring twice, during his second spell at Milan.
Rizzi was a short and very good player, known especially for being the first Italian to pay attention to his fitness in a fanatical way. He was the kind of forward who pushed a lot towards the opposing goal but seemed to prefer to assist his teammates with accurate crosses from the goal-line. He wasn't, in fact, a very prolific scorer since he missed many favourable scoring chances, sometimes showing hesitation on the ball. However, the 1911-12 season was peculiar as he scored 12 goals in 15 matches. His best quality was his sense of position as he was very capable of unmarking himself in order to receive the ball. He played so well on the lines that sometimes the opposing defenders protested, thinking that Rizzi was offside.
