INFO:Barbieri was a goalkeeper. He played his entire career at Milan from 1908 to 1916, making 95 appearances and scoring once as he was initially a half-back before turning into goalkeeper in the 1910-11 season. Regarded as Milan's first great goalkeeper, Barbieri was known for his cool and calculated playstyle. His saves weren't spectacular at all as he dove as less as possible. He had a short body but could resist physical contacts in a crowded area or on the ground in the rare occasions where he moved with good timing from a side of the goal to the other. His lack of sense of positioning was his only flaw because he moved to save a shot only when he was certain that his action was necessary. Therefore, he made some mistakes. Nonetheless, he was good enough to be called up for Italy but didn’t find space in the national team due to the presence of Piero Campelli and Mario De Simoni, who played respectively for Internazionale and Milanese.
