Pomi was a right back or right wing-half. He spent his almost entire career at Milan, making 225 appearances from 1925 to 1933, scoring once. He retired two years later after a short experience at Catania. A regular in Milan's starting line-up for many years, Pomi was known especially for his superb physical qualities as he was tall, strong, capable in the air and hard in the tackle. He was also quite good with the ball on his feet. In fact, he could set up the offense and support the forwards with good results. He was particularly helpful during set pieces as he went to the opposing box to have some defenders mark him. Therefore, he didn't try to score but gave his teammates the chance to be unmarked.
