René Petit was born in Dax (France) but was educated and lived in Spain. He studied in the great nursery of players who was the Pilar College. After completing high school, he joined the Madrid with his brother, the late John, an extraordinary left inside. Despite his youth, he did well in the first team squad that dominated in Spain since 1908. It was unlike anything they had seen before. It was a total footballer, capable of playing in any river, everything was good.

The history of the Club will always be remembered as one of their best players, perhaps his first great star. He kept close ties with the Club, in 1952, on the occasion of the silver anniversary, we celebrated. Santiago Bernabeu imposed the shiny gold badge of the Club, in recognition of one of the best players who had magnified the young history of a legendary club. He played for France. Fuenterrabía died in the October 14, 1989.
The total footballer, is the definition that fits with the characteristics of Rene Petit, a forward who played a half, playing half of everything. Portentous physically, but above all endowed with improper technique of the time, served to love their football to an incipient preference he considered his first and greatest idol.
