Pastore was a centre forward. He spent his best time at Juventus, making 66 appearances from 1923 to 1927, scoring 55 goals. He was instrumental during the 1925-26 Prima Divisione winning season as he scored 27 times in 20 matches. He kept scoring at Milan from 1927 to 1929 and in 1931-32 as well as Lazio from 1929 to 1931 and from 1932 to 1934: 53 goals in 90 games for the Rossoneri, 32 in 75 for the Biancocelesti. He played also for Padova, Perugia and Roma, where he retired in 1935. He was called-up for Italy in 1928 without playing. After his retirement from football, he continued the career as an actor that he started in 1929 when he was still a player.
Pastore was a strong, prolific striker who possessed good sprint, amazing sense of goal and the ability to break through the defence. He didn't have notable technical skills, although any position was good for him as long as he had the chance to shoot. He had the courage to attempt the shot regardless from the moment or the situation. He was particularly efficient first time. He occasionally used this skills also to provide fine passes. His talent and luck often helped him. He scoring rate was impressive, even more considering that he scored extremely easily. Moreover, his shots sometimes were so powerful that they almost broke the net.
