Goccione was a half-back. He spent his entire career at Juventus, making 51 appearances from 1902 to 1912, scoring 4 goals. He won Juventus' first Scudetto in 1905. Although not technically gifted, Goccione was an extremely efficient midfielder who moved constanty. He was strong, combative, unmatched in the air thanks to his heading skill. He gave his best by combining force with the style of play which was focused in breaking the opposing offense and build up the attack of his own team. He was a moving wall in the back, showing courage and endurance. He fought and sprinted before triggering the counterattack with logic and intelligence. Because he played as wing half and inside forward in his early days, he knew how to support the forward line.
