Ge Fortgens for Ajax in the early twentieth century as a defender or midfielder played 52 games in which he once managed to find the target. The star player of the former Ajax Ajax was the first who was ever called for the Dutch team in 1911. In 1906 was born in Amsterdam, after wandering in small clubs, member of Ajax. IEN in 1912 was after 8 games his international career is over. Fortgens played right center, an industrious type, with defensive construction, in line with luminary Bok de Korver side. At his club he was left half posted. Fortgens was especially impressed because he was able to replace his backs to take over temporarily. They called him all round, a hard-worker. Fortgens was small, teammates De Korver and Otten tasks a whole head above him. He was one of the first class boys in a 'gentlemen' and 'rich boys' national team dominated. Fortgens was also part of the team that in 1912 participated in the Olympic Games in Stockholm. In the game for the bronze, beating the Finns 9-0, however, lacked Fortgens.
After his time at Ajax before Fortgens UVV Utrecht and Haarlem. In 1922 he ended his career.
