Erik Börjesson is former Swedish legend. He was striker with excellent dribbling but also great shooting and scoring capacities, fine technique as well. Börjesson played at the beginning of his career in his hometown in Jonsereds GIF. In 1907, joined the strikers IFK Gothenburg, where he was the outstanding player. 1910 to 1912 he played for Örgryte IS, at that time the most important team in Sweden. Then he returned to IFK Gothenburg. In 1914 he received an offer for a friendly match of Liverpool FC to move to England as a professional player, the Börjesson refused. In 1920 he announced his resignation, but tried a comeback in 1923 as player-manager at Örgryte IS. In 1925 he ended his career during which he won three Swedish Championships final. On 12 July 1908 was the Swedish national team squad for Börjesson on their first international match. Norway was hit with this 11:3. With the choice of country, he took part in the Olympic Games in 1912 in Stockholm. In total he played 17 international games for Sweden, scoring twelve goals. Börjesson 2004 was inducted into the Hall Of Fame SFS. His son, Reino Börjesson also played in the national team.
