INFO:Silcock was a left-back. He spent almost his entire career at Manchester United, where he made 449 appearances from 1919 to 1934, scoring 2 goals. He retired in 1936 after short spells at Oldham Athletic and Droylsden. He capped for England 3 times.
One of the most loyal and dependable players in Manchester United's history, he formed an effective defensive partnership with Charlie Moore. Silcock was a powerful defender gifted with enviable courage. While he was tough in defence, he was also brilliant on the ball as he was athletic, stylish, and in possession of an unusual quality distribution for a defender of his era. He scored the first of his only two goals from the penalty spot.
