INFO:Halse was an inside right. His career started in 1905 at Clapton Orient. The following year, he joined Southend United, where he scored an impressive 91 goals in 65 matches in two seasons. He then had his longest spell at Manchester United, scoring 56 goals in 125 appearances from 1908 to 1912. He retired in 1923 after experiences with Aston Villa, Chelsea and Charlton Athletic. He capped for England once in 1909, scoring 2 goals.
Considered one of Manchester United’s most prominent players at the end of the 1900s and in the early 1910s, Halse was a striker who put a lot of effort in the offensive play. He was short, relatively slight of build, and not the kind of forward who breaks through the defence. Instead, he would often score out of nowhere and from apparently impossible positions, showing great confidence in his own ability as an opportunistic scorer who did the best he could at every chance.
