INFO:Gyula Mándi ( born January 21, 1899 - died October, 1969) was a Hungarian footballer and manager. Mándi was part of the greatest era of MTK in 1920's and 1930's. He played alongside the likes of Ferenc Plattkó, Béla Gutmann, Gustáv Sebes, Jeno Kálmár, Imre Schlosser, Iuliu Baratky and Ferenc Sas. Between 1919 and 1925, he won seven consecutive championship with MTK.
He was called The Master of Arts, between the defenders. He wasn't playing robust, his positioning and tackling was just world-class, he didn't even need touch opponent. Legends says his father didn't want to became him a footballer since they were considered rude. So he made it in his own style. He survived the holocaust quite luckily due to his popularity because the nazi murdered were just about to raid the safe house he was living in and shoot all it's inhabitant into the frozen Danube in winter 1944.
