One of the best midfielders of Soviet football in all years. Comprehensively physically developed (he played well hockey, was an excellent skier, rower and athlete), desperately brave, temperamental, possessed a rare gaming intuition, which allowed him to virtually unmistakably predict the direction of attacks of rivals, did not know the equal in the game header.
