Helge "Ekis" Ekroth began his career in Kronoberg NS and came through NS Sture to AIK. AIK His debut was in 1910 in the Swedish series against IFK Göteborg, where AIK won 9-1, AIK's biggest victory ever against IFK Gothenburg and Ekis scored five goals. Ekis is AIK's Meste Swedish champions, no one beats his four championships with AIK. From the late 1910s formed Ekis with Putte Kock one of the best left wings of all time. But he was a bohemian who found it difficult to submit to lagspelets requirements which meant that there was only 18 internationals. But he was the first AIK successor who scored a goal for the national team.
Ekis was a big ball artist, arguably the greatest in the AIK of all time. A football humorist who made the most incredible magic number with the ball and their available legs. He always played his own game with humor - mostly because he was so richly endowed with this gift from God, which took many forms, both on and off the field. R et Eklöw, Dagens Nyheter longtime sports director, says that there has never been anyone who comes near Ekis. According to R: et has "certainly been bigger gun shooters, more brilliant strategists, efficient sprinters and more generous colluders in world football but it has only been a Ekis. An unseen combination of actors and footballers." Ekis - one of AIK's greatest legends of all time.
