INFO:
Aldo Cevenini ─ the eldest brother of the Cevenini family ─ was a centre forward, who played as half back in his late career. He had his most successful times at Milan and Inter. He had two spells with the Rossoneri, from 1909 to 1912 and from 1915 to 1919, making 84 appearances and scoring 83 goals. He had, instead, three different experiences at Inter, playing as forward from 1912 to 1915, as midfielder from 1919 to 1921 and in 1922-23 ─ year of his retirement ─ scoring 46 goals in 91 matches. He capped for Italy 11 times, scoring 4 goals, becoming the first centre forward of the Italian national team.
As a striker, Cevenini was focused only on the offense, gifted with great determination and excellent scoring sense. Powerful despite his short physique, he moved constantly and frantically in the box, sometimes even along the backline. Deadly in front of the goal, he scored with accurate and formidable shots from any possible position, surprising even great goalkeepers. He was capable of passing the ball and rushing forward smoothly, smartly and very quickly. Even though his technique was a bit approximative, he was one of the best dribblers at the time. He sometimes overused his staggering skills as he liked scoring with a powerful shot a few meters away from the goal after overcoming the entire defence. In fact, he wasn't the kind of striker who delivered thunderous long range shots. He preferred advancing forward with audacity, looking for the most favourable scoring chance.
