INFO:Banchero was a centre forward, capable of playing also as right inside. He spent most of his career at Alessandria, playing 160 matches and scoring 79 goals in three different spells, 1921-1924, 1925-1929 and 1936-37. He then had a very good experience at Genova 1893, scoring 42 times in 81 games between 1929 and 1932. He also played for Spal, Roma, Bari and Parma. He capped 3 times for Italy in 1928, scoring 4 goals. He retired in 1939.
Nicknamed the "Man of mud" due to his ability to play comfortably on heavy fields, Banchero was considered as a master with the ball. In fact, he had excellent ball control and good dribbling ability with which he beat the defenders. He then created scoring chances, triggering well the attack, especially with passes and fast exchanges with the wingers. His shots had good power and he occasionally scored with volleys. His quickness and reaction inside the box made him dangerous with the head as well.
