Gandini was a left wing-half, inside forward and left winger. He spent his almost entire career at Alessandria from 1921 and 1932, making 236 appearances and scoring 17 goals. He was team captain in many occasions. He was called up for Italy 6 times. Gandini was a solid player and tenacious fighter, gifted with great determination. He had a rough playstyle but also good feet. Throughout the years, he showed outstanding physical qualities, an impetuous agonism, the clean touch of a striker and the attitude of a great leader.
