INFO:
One of the first Italian Oriundi, Moscardini was born and raised in Scotland from Italian parents. Wounded to the left arm while giving military service during the First World War, he still could play football. He had the best period of his career when he played for Lucchese between 1919 and 1924: at least 40 goals scored in over 50 matches with an incredible regularity. He was playing in a very weak team that was often in the low positions of the ranking, but he was so good to be called for Italy: 7 goals in 9 friendly matches. He then played the 1924-25 season for Pisa and at the end of it he retired from professional football.
Gifted with a strong physique − despite not being tall − and a lot of courage, he was a powerful and very prolific scorer; his best qualities were a deadly shot − often from the distance − and outstanding tenacity; many reports said that when he scored a goal he followed the ball into the net, often taking the goalkeeper with him in the enthusiasm of the moment; fast and accurate, he was though the imbodiment of the typical robust "Scottish style" and this style caused criticism, especially when he played for Italy: he was a good header and his sudden shots were incredibly efficient but he was lost among the other forwards who couldn't understand his game, totally different from the Italian, that didn't put him in the condition of commanding the attack; however he tried to adapt to the Italian playstyle, passing the ball to his teammates when needed.
