Lee Yong was a South Korean right back. He had a highly successful career in the K-League, winning the AFC Champions League with Ulsan Hyundai and 5 league titles in a row with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. Lee was a late bloomer, only entering the university football system at 20 and signing his first professional contract at 23. He was a fullback with excellent physical qualities, fast and good in the air. He was an efficient passer too and could send dangerous crosses, although not very gifted in terms of technique and dribbling. He was a tenacious defender that was quick to close down and tackle his opponents, although his positioning was poor at times. Lee was voted as the best right back in the K-League in 2013, 2018 and 2019. He was also a South Korean international, playing 57 games for his country and at both the 2014 and 2018 World Cup.
