Considine has spent his entire career at the club and made 568 appearances, putting him 4th in the all time list. He mostly plays as a left back although he is equally comfortable at centre back. Considine is a strong player with excellent aerial abilities which has led to him having a good scoring record over his career, and he even scored a hat trick in a 7-0 victory over Dundee in 2017. He's a real threat at set pieces because of his good jumping ability. Other than that, he's a good defender in 1-on-1 situations because of his well-timed tackles and strength. He also possesses pretty good passing abilities although he isn't usually the sort of full back that gets forward to cross into the box. Unfortunately he is a very slow and immobile player although this usually doesn't hurt him too much as he defends deeper to compensate for his lack of pace. He is known for being a consistently reliable player and has won Aberdeen's player of the year award twice, in 2017 and 2020. He earned his first callup to the Scottish national team in 2020, already at the age of 33, which made him the oldest Scotland debutant since Ronnie Simpson in 1967. |
