Ansarifard is a centre forward and occasionally a winger. His career began in 2007 in his native country Iran. He played for Saipa until 2012, scoring 56 goals in 131 matches. He then spent a season at Persepolis and one at Tractor Sazi before transferring to Osasuna in 2014. After one year, he joined Panionios, where he made 51 appearances and scored 15 goals in one season and a half. He then played for Olympiacos from January 2017 to November 2018, scoring 22 goals in 48 games. Afterwards, he had stints with Nottingham Forest, Qatari team Al-Sailiya, and AEK Athens. He signed for Cypriot club Omonia in 2022. He capped for Iran 94 times so far, scoring 28 goals.
Compared to Iranian legend Ali Daei and considered the successor of the former centre forward, Ansarifard is distinguished for his great energy and notable skills in both air and ground. He's effective when pushing down the flank thanks to a remarkable speed, and he can move in tight spaces due to his good dribbling skills. He sometimes scores with good headers or remarkable shots from less favourable positions, but he's mostly dangerous when rushing inside the area as he has an accurate shot one-on-one even from angled positions, and an excellent reaction that enables him to get on the ball before the defenders. He doesn't waste the opportunities he gets when the opposing defence makes a mistake or the ball is deflected. He plays well on the lines, close to the defenders, and knows the timing of movements. Furthermore, he has a fine passing ability, good mental toughness as he can track back to his own half and help his defenders, and he scored several goals when coming in as substitute.

Nice work. Good to see one of the players I appreciate much for their performance on Greek fields. His Οlympiacos stint was sadly brief, just due to outfield reasons and bad moves from his manager.
