Gökhan İnler is a central or defensive midfielder. He spent the majority of his career in Italy. He played for Udinese from 2007 to 2011, making 162 appearances and scoring 9 goals. He then played 166 matches for Napoli from 2011 to 2015, scoring 13 times. He played also in Switzerland for Aarau and Zürich, in England for Leicester City, in Turkey for Beşiktaş, İstanbul Başakşehir and Adana Demirspor. He capped for Switzerland in 89 occasions, scoring 7 goals.
İnler is a strong, hardworking and tenacious midfielder, effective with both feet, distinguished mostly for his powerful and well placed long range shots as well as his vision, tactical awareness and ball distribution, made especially of excellent and fast through passes or pinpoint crosses, also from set piece. He's not fast but he's gifted with superb technical qualities and great stamina that allows him to make constant movements off the ball. Equally efficient in defence and attack, not only he's a deep-lying playmaker who dictates the time of the play but he's also capable of winning numerous balls in the middle of the pitch. Due to his height, he can do well in the air.
