Castellón's tactical design resembled the 4-3-3 used by the Brazilian National Team in the 1962 World Cup. A false winger (Félix) retreated to help the midfield and, with that, opened space on the left for the strong support of the offensive full-back Babiloni, who had the freedom to make deep plays. Meanwhile, through the middle, the striker (Planelles) advanced and touched the center forward (Clarés), tabulating and reversing the roles with him.
